Patna, Jan. 20 -- In an important verdict which could have far reaching repercussions, Patna High Court quashed the rape case against a man who was charged by his girl friend for sexual exploitation and rape for more than one year on false promise of marriage.
A single bench of Justice Soni Srivastava while hearing a petition of one Mohammad Saif Ali Ansari seeking quashing of case against him of rape and sexual exploitation charge on false promise of marriage, ruled that an adult girl could not file case against her partner if promise of marriage was not materialised due to some compelling reasons.
