Nagpur, Nov. 4 -- Resident doctors of government medical colleges across Maharashtra launched an indefinite strike , severely affecting outpatient services and leaving many patients in distress.

The protest follows the alleged suicide of a woman doctor at a sub-district hospital in Phaltan, which the medical community has linked to workplace harassment.

At the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Nagpur, OPD services were largely curtailed, with only emergency, casualty and intensive care units operating as usual.
