Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Sept. 15 -- A truck driver from Punjab's Pathankot district has been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia after drugs were allegedly found concealed in a package he was carrying across the Dubai-Saudi border, his family said, appealing to the Indian government to intervene.
Baljinder Singh, a resident of Sujanpur, was arrested about three years ago. His family says he did not know the package contained narcotics and had agreed to carry it after being told it held medicines for an ailing elderly man.
"He had refused to take the package twice because he did not know what was inside," Baljinder's father, Jaswinder Singh, said.
