Pune, Aug. 12 -- Students should not focus merely on earning degrees but identify their passion and connect it with a profession to achieve excellence, senior IT expert Dr Deepak Shikarpur said here on Wednesday.
Addressing the 'Deeksharambh 2026' induction programme organised by Allard University Pune for newly admitted students, Shikarpur said "Passion plus Profession equals Excellence". Citing singer Shankar Mahadevan, he said students should recognise their own abilities and interests instead of simply following societal expectations.
A degree is only the beginning of a career, while communication and technical skills, along with knowledge of foreign languages, will be crucial for future opportunities, he said.
