Chandigarh, Aug. 4 -- A passenger flying out of India was intercepted at Amritsar's international airport after security personnel allegedly found 31,500 U.S. dollars hidden inside his undergarments, triggering a Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) investigation into a suspected case of foreign currency smuggling.
The seizure was made during pre-embarkation security checks at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, where Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel noticed suspicious movement during screening and subjected the traveller to a detailed examination. The concealed currency, valued at roughly Rs 30 lakh, was recovered before the passenger could board the flight.
