New Delhi, May 30 -- Explaining the national capital's current water situation and the decline in Yamuna water levels, Water Minister Parvesh Verma on Saturday said the city currently requires around 1,250 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) of water during the peak summer season.
He said that despite challenges arising from a significant drop in the Yamuna's water level at the Wazirabad Barrage, the Delhi Jal Board has been making continuous efforts to sustain water production and minimise inconvenience to residents.
Throwing light on the situation, Verma said, "The water level at Wazirabad has fallen from its normal pond level of 674.5 feet to nearly 668 feet, resulting in a shortage of raw water and affecting water production by nearly 80-10...
