Puducherry, March 23 -- Of the total 30 Assembly seats, the ruling AINRC led by Chief Minister N Rangasamy, heading the NDA in Puducherry, is contesting in 16 seats, while the BJP was allotted the remainign 14 seats.

Of the 14, the saffron party has announced candidtes for 10seats, while allotting two seats each from its kitty to the AIADMK and the newly formed Lakshya Jananayaga Katchi (LJK).

Instead of the Raj Bhavan and Mahe constituencies contested by the AINRC, it obtained Lawspet and Muthialpet constituencies.The AIADMK which contested five constituencies--Uppalam, Orleanpet, Mudaliarpet, Muthialpet and Karaikal (South)-was given Uppalam and Orleanpet only.
