Kolkata, Sept. 1 -- West Bengal Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister Agnimitra Paul on Tuesday said the pavement dweller, whom she had reprimanded for warming milk on a stove on a Park Street pavement, had refused several houses offered to her and subsequently moved out of one accommodation allotted to her because its bathroom was on the ground floor.
Paul said Sita Devi alias Rashida had initially been moved to a hotel after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari directed that she be provided shelter. However, she was unwilling to stay in a shelter home and instead sought a house.
