Bengaluru, Oct. 27 -- : Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Monday said senior Congress leader K H Muniyappa is "fully qualified" to become Chief Minister,adding that he would welcome such a decision if taken by the party's High Command.
Speaking to reporters, Parameshwara lauded Muniyappa's long political career, noting that he has been elected to the Lok Sabha seven times and has also served as a union Minister.
"Becoming MP seven times is no small feat. He is senior, experienced and capable. If Muniyappa becomes the Chief Minister, I will be happy. When a community that has long faced discrimination gets an opportunity to lead, it is something we can all take pride in," he said.
