Kangra, Sept. 30 -- Panun Kashmir on Wednesday questioned the demand for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, saying that "justice must precede statehood" and that the rights and rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits must be addressed.

Panun Kashmir senior spokesperson Lenin Bhat who was here told UNI that the J&K Assembly's resolution seeking restoration of statehood should not be viewed as a triumph of democracy without addressing the concerns of the Kashmiri Pandit community.

Bhat alleged that lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their ancestral homeland due to terrorism, threats and targeted killings, while their homes and properties were allegedly looted or occupied and temples desecrated.
