Bengaluru, April 15 -- Lucknow Super Giants were dealt an early blow as skipper Rishabh Pant was forced to retire hurt after being struck on the left elbow during their Indian Premier League clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the fifth over when Pant attempted a cross-batted heave against a short delivery from Josh Hazlewood. He failed to make proper contact, with the ball taking the inside edge and crashing into his left elbow. Replays confirmed the impact, and the wicketkeeper-batsman was immediately seen in visible discomfort.
