Patna, May 20 -- In a major step to strengthen public safety, the Bihar government has decided to install panic buttons at all prominent public places across the state.
Additional Director General (Technical Services and Communication) Amit Lodha told news persons here on Wednesday at the police headquarters, Sardar Patel Bhawan, that the initiative will enable citizens to quickly alert authorities during emergencies. He explained that pressing the panic button in case of accidents, crimes, or any emergency will immediately send an alert to the Dial 112 Emergency Service, ensuring rapid deployment of police and rescue teams to the spot.
