Panchkula, July 15 -- In a major initiative aimed at enhancing passenger safety and improving the regulation of public transport, Panchkula Police has launched a district-wide verification drive under which every auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw operating in the city will be issued a departmental unique identification sticker after verification.
A Panchkula Police spokesperson said the campaign has been launched under the directions of Police Commissioner Pankaj Nain to create a verified database of all auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws, facilitate quick identification of vehicles involved in criminal incidents, and curb the operation of unauthorized vehicles.
