Panchkula, July 29 -- Panchkula Police has launched a renewed crackdown on serious crime, directing officers to expedite investigations into murders, crimes against women and other heinous offences. Habitual offenders, parolees and recently released prisoners will remain under enhanced surveillance to prevent repeat offences.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aditi Singh issued the directions during a district-wide crime review meeting with ACPs, SHOs, police post in-charges and heads of various police units at the DCP Office.

Emphasising a results-oriented approach, the DCP directed officers to dispose of pending criminal cases expeditiously, noting that prolonged investigations weaken the criminal justice system.
