Panchkula, June 26 -- In a strong message against police misconduct, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Srishti Gupta on Friday dismissed a Special Police Officer (SPO) from service after a viral video showed him allegedly assaulting a youth in the Ramgarh police outpost area.
The swift action came after a video surfaced on social media showing SPO Jaiveer Singh, who was deployed with the Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV), allegedly beating a man during a police intervention. Taking serious note of the incident, the DCP ordered the immediate dismissal of the SPO, reiterating the department's zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline, misconduct and abuse of authority.
