Jerusalem, April 25 -- In the first vote since the Gaza war, Palestinians are casting ballots on Saturday in municipal elections across the occupied West Bank and limited areas of the Gaza Strip.
Ballots are being cast across the occupied West Bank and, for the first time in roughly twenty years, in the Gazan city of Deir al-Balah.
About 1.5 million people were registered in the West Bank, along with 70,000 in Deir al-Balah, one of the few parts of Gaza that hasn't seen a full Israeli ground assault. Polls opened at 7am in the morning, Jerusalem post reported.
The polls will close by 7 pm, with the first results expected by late Saturday and early Sunday.
