Islamabad, Aug. 18 -- Pakistan's Supreme Court has ordered authorities to shift imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan to a hospital amid increasing concerns about his health.
The court directed that Khan be transferred from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi to the private Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad within 48 hours, where he will likely remain until September 16, according to reports citing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesman Naeem Haider Panjutha.
The 73-year-old ex-cricketer-turned-politician has been incarcerated at Adiala Jail since August 2023 on allegations of corruption, where frequent reports have emerged of jail authorities' alleged deliberate medical neglect.
