Kozhikode (Kerala), July 31 -- A preliminary police inquiry into a Bengali worker over his social media contacts with people in Pakistan took an unusual turn at the Beypore police station here, with the man winning over the officers by performing a popular Hindi song on his flute.
Hiran Das, a native of Kailash Nagar in Kakdwip in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, was summoned to the Beypore police station after police received information about his communications with persons in Pakistan through social media.
Das had come to Beypore in connection with work at the port. His activities came under scrutiny after police were informed that he had been in contact with a Pakistani national through social media and WhatsApp.
