Madrid, July 23 -- Real Sociedad defender Jon Pacheco is determined to earn a place in the San Sebastian club's first team this season after a successful loan spell with Deportivo Alaves last campaign.
Pacheco's loan move to Alaves came as a surprise, given that the 25-year-old, who has represented Spain at every level from under-17 to under-23, had already made 96 first-team appearances for Real Sociedad.
However, he adapted well and played a key role in helping Alaves avoid relegation, despite an ankle injury that limited his appearances toward the end of the season.
"I think I played at a high level and felt important again, so I'm very happy, and I think they (Alaves) were too," Pacheco told sports daily Marca.
