Chandigarh, April 10 -- Continuing its state-wide crackdown on organized crime and narcotics, the Punjab Police on Friday executed a massive search operation, conducting 449 raids at mapped locations linked to various gangster modules. These operations, carried out on the 80th day of the 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign, resulted in the arrest of 262 individuals and the recovery of three illegal weapons. Launched on January 20, 2026, under the direct supervision of DGP Gaurav Yadav and the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, this decisive initiative has seen a total of 20,156 arrests to date, marking a significant milestone in the state's efforts to become gangster-free.
