Dharamshala, May 12 -- A total of 7,194 nomination papers were filed on the final day of the nomination process for Panchayati Raj Institution elections in Kangra on May 11, taking the cumulative tally over the three-day filing period to 19,748.
Assistant District Election Officer (Panchayat) Sachin Thakur said that on the last day, 1,406 nominations were filed for the post of Pradhan, 1,597 for Up-Pradhan, 3,441 for Ward Member, 616 for Panchayat Samiti Member, and 134 for Zila Parishad Member.
He said that during the three-day nomination process, a total of 3,860 nomination papers were filed for Pradhan posts, 4,219 for Up-Pradhan, 9,799 for Ward Member, 1,604 for Panchayat Samiti Member, and 266 for Zila Parishad Member posts.
