Nashik/Mumbai, March 28 -- More than 100 complaints have been registered against self-styled godman Ashok Kharat via a dedicated police helpline, with nearly 70% of the complainants being women.

Police sources said Saturday that many victims, particularly women, were initially hesitant to submit written complaints due to fear of defamation, social stigma, and alleged political connections of the accused. To address this, authorities launched a confidential helpline to encourage victims to come forward, which has seen a significant response.
