Mumbai, March 18 -- The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly witnessed an intense debate on Wednesday over the recent acid attack on a 13-year-old girl in Sangamner, Ahilyanagar district.
Questioning why the culprits remained at large, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar strongly criticized the state's law and order situation while alleging corruption within the local police.
Although the adjournment motion filed by Wadettiwar, Nana Patole, and Aslam Sheikh was rejected by the Speaker, Wadettiwar was allowed a brief opportunity to address the House.
Ahilyanagar Guardian Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil assured that the government would cover all medical expenses for the victim.
