Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- The Orissa High Court has held that a married daughter of a deceased government employee cannot be denied appointment under the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme if she was unmarried at the time of submitting her application.
Justice Biraja Prasanna Satapathy, in an order pronounced on Monday, quashed a government decision issued over a decade ago rejecting the petitioner's claim solely because she had married while her application was pending.
Setting aside the impugned order, the Court directed the Health and Family Welfare Department to reconsider the petitioner's claim and pass a fresh, reasoned order within two months.
