New Delhi, Aug. 6 -- With heavy monsoon showers continuing across Delhi-NCR and more rain forecast through Friday, the Gurugram district administration has advised corporate offices and private establishments to implement 'work from home' on Friday to minimise traffic congestion, facilitate drainage and road repair work, and ensure uninterrupted movement of emergency services.
The advisory was issued by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Chairman and District Magistrate Uttam Singh after Gurugram recorded 97 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) placed the region under an orange alert, warning of continued heavy rainfall, waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
