Thiruvananthapurm, June 29 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Kannur and Kasaragod districts of Kerala on June 29, warning of the possibility of very heavy rainfall.

The alert has been expanded for June 30 to include Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, as monsoon activity is expected to intensify over northern Kerala.

A Yellow Alert, indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall, has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts on June 29.

For June 30, the Yellow Alert will remain in effect for Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts.
