Thiruvananthapuram, June 2 -- The Kerala Legislative Assembly witnessed heated exchanges and Opposition protests on Tuesday after the government rejected an adjournment motion notice seeking an urgent discussion on the rising prices of essential commodities.
The issue dominated proceedings on the opening day of the Assembly session and eventually led to a walkout by Opposition members.
The adjournment motion was moved by CPM member K.N. Balagopal, who alleged that the continued increase in the prices of essential commodities was severely affecting ordinary families across Kerala.
