Shillong, Feb. 27 -- The opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the Meghalaya assembly on Thursday raised the issue of the functioning of the Chief Minister's Secretariat (CMS) and the expenditure incurred in maintaining this crucial institution.
Initiating a debate on a cut motion, they maintained that expenditure of Rs. 23.20 crore on the Council of Ministers constitutes a jump of 26 per cent over the previous year.
