Thiruvananthapuram, June 19 -- Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Pinarayi Vijayan has launched a scathing attack on the State Government over the Governor's meeting with senior state officials, accusing Chief Minister VD Satheesan of failing to defend the constitutional authority of the elected government.

In a statement, the Opposition leader said the clarification issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) claiming that the Chief Minister came to know about the Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar's meeting only through media reports had raised serious questions about the functioning of the administration.
