Patna, March 5 -- The Opposition in Bihar has termed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's decision to step down from the post and move to the Rajya Sabha a "major betrayal of the people's mandate."Opposition leaders said that what they had repeatedly claimed during the Bihar election campaign has now proved to be true. They alleged that a conspiracy was hatched by the Bharatiya Janata Party and certain leaders of Janata Dal (United) to overturn the democratically elected government in Bihar and capture power, recalling what they describe as the BJP's "Operation Lotus" in several states.
