Chennai, June 24 -- The Opposition DMK on Wednesday accused the ruling TVK in Tamil government of misusing the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) for political purposes, cautioning that it may initiate legal action if the practice continues.
The controversy arose after the DIPR released a video clip featuring Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's reply to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address in the State Assembly yesterday. The clip reportedly carried a caption describing his remarksas a "befitting reply" to the Opposition, which drew sharp criticism from DMK leaders.
