Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 -- The Kerala Home Department will launch Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt, described as South India's largest anti-drug enforcement campaign, on June 2 as part of an intensified effort to dismantle drug networks and curb the growing menace of narcotics across the state.
Announced by Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala shortly after assuming office, the initiative is one of the flagship programmes of the UDF government.
The campaign combines stringent law enforcement measures against drug syndicates with a mass public awareness and participation drive aimed at preventing substance abuse, particularly among young people.
