Ranchi, July 28 -- Sixteen active cadres of the banned CPI (Maoist), including a Regional Committee Member carrying a reward of Rs 15 lakh, surrendered before the Jharkhand Police under Operation Navjeevan-II on Tuesday.
Director General of Police Tadasha Mishra said the surrendered cadres included one Regional Committee Member (RCM), three Zonal Committee Members (ZCMs), three Sub-Zonal Committee Members (SZCMs), six Area Committee Members (ACMs) and three squad members. Five of them are women.
The surrendered Maoists handed over 11 firearms, including six INSAS rifles, two AK-47 rifles, one HK-33 rifle, one US Carbine and one M-16 rifle, along with 38 magazines and 1,562 live cartridges.
