New Delhi, June 26 -- The Indian Army has dispatched a specialised medical contingent to the quake devastated northern Venezuela to assist in humanitarian relief efforts under operation Amistad.
The specialized medical team from Indian Army's 60 Para Field Hospital departed on Friday afternoon from Hindon Air Force Station aboard two Indian Air Force aircraft.
In the contingent there are a total of 41 personnel, including nine medical officers, and it is equipped to provide emergency medical care, trauma management, life-saving surgical support and other essential healthcare services.
Notably, the team is carrying approximately six tonnes of medical stores and humanitarian relief supplies provided by the Ministry of External Affairs.
