Onam Tourism Week: Over 2,000 artists to perform at 36 venues in Kerala capital

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 19 -- Over 2,000 artists will perform at 36 venues in the state capital as Kerala gears up for the Onam Tourism Week celebrations from August 24 to 30, Tourism Minister P.C. Vishnunadh has said.

The week-long celebrations will feature a grand pageantry procession on August 30, besides cultural programmes, a trade fair, food festival, city-wide illumination and the KTDC's Payasam Competition. Onam programmes will also be organised in all districts through the District Tourism Promotion Councils (DTPCs).

Vishnunadh inaugurated the Festival Office at the Tourism Directorate here to coordinate and oversee the celebrations across the state. He also unveiled this year's Onam festival logo at the function.
