Guwahati, Nov. 18 -- On a day when the whole of Assam remembered iconic singer Zubeen Garg on his 53rd birthday on Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Central government has granted the required sanction under Section 208 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to proceed against the accused linked to Zubeen's death in Singapore.
Announcing this crucial legal step on his X handle, the Chief Minister said that this sanction is a crucial legal step, allowing the state to file a charge sheet and move forward firmly and lawfully for the trial of the case.
