Srinagar, Sept. 4 -- J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today urged the Central Government to announce a relief package for the union Territory in view of the extensive damage caused by floods and crop losses.

Omar, who visited the flood-affected areas soon after landing in Srinagar after the GST Council meeting in New Delhi, told reporters that while a central team is being sent to assess the financial loss in 10 districts of Jammu, the same should be done for Kashmir.

"I will write to Hon'ble Home Minister Amit Shah and request him to send the same team to Kashmir-particularly to Kulgam, Anantnag, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, and Bandipora-where there has been financial loss due to floods or damage to crops in our fields," he s...
