Muscat/Tehran, June 25 -- Oman and Iran have agreed to work jointly on implementing a mechanism to secure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, following a phone call on Thursday night between Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
The two ministers "reached an understanding on a mechanism for joint cooperation aimed at achieving the objectives of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding regarding freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," said the Oman foreign ministry in a statement.
