Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday launched a massive statewide operation to investigate alleged corruption and embezzlement of government funds in the installation of LED street lighting systems across Gram Panchayats (GPs).
As part of the operation, 24 vigilance teams comprising 81 officers have been deployed to probe alleged irregularities in LED street lighting works undertaken in multiple districts.
Acting on credible inputs regarding corruption and misappropriation of government money in LED street light installations in Kendujhar, Nayagarh and Jajpur districts, vigilance authorities initiated simultaneous field-level investigations.
