Bhubaneswar, Jan. 29 -- A special judge of the Vigilance Court in Berhampur on Thursday convicted Tutika Vasudev Rao, a retired Drugs Inspector from Bolangir, in a disproportionate assets (DA) case. The court sentenced Rao to three years of simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh.
Rao was charge-sheeted by the Odisha Vigilance under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Following his conviction, Odisha Vigilance will move the competent authority to stop his pension, vigilance sources said.
