Bhubaneswar, Feb. 17 -- In a significant move to position Odisha as a biotechnology hub, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati announced a comprehensive plan to strengthen research, innovation and entrepreneurship in the biotechnology sector.
The announcement, made during his inaugural address to the State Assembly, outlines a five-year strategy aimed at accelerating scientific advancement and boosting the bio-economy.
The state government will invest Rs.1,113.50 crore over five years under an umbrella scheme titled "Development of Biotechnology."The ambitious programme comprises 17 sub-schemes and will be implemented from 2025-26 to 2029-30.
