Bhubaneswar, May 30 -- The Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls aimed at ensuring inclusion of all eligible voters and removal of ineligible names will begin across Odisha from May 30, Chief Electoral Officer R S Gopalan announced on Friday.
Addressing a press conference at the CEO's Media Centre in Bhubaneswar, Gopalan said the exercise is being undertaken as per the directives of the Election Commission of India.
July 1, 2026 has been fixed as the qualifying date for the revision process.
As part of the exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house verification and distribute enumeration forms between May 30 and June 28.
