Bhubaneswar, June 5 -- Odisha is set to establish a state-of-the-art Pipili Chandua Handicrafts Hub to promote the world-famous Chandua applique craft, strengthen artisan livelihoods, and create a major cultural and tourism destination.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the ambitious project at Jagannathpur Mouza under Pipili Tahasil.

The five-storey integrated Craft, Culture and Tourism Hub will be developed over more than five acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 80 crore by the Department of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts.
