Odisha to host two-day National Conference on Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes

Bhubaneswar, Aug. 27 -- Odisha will host a two-day National Conference of Chairpersons of Committees on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes on August 29-30 here.

Over 120 delegates from state and union territory legislatures are expected to participate.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inaugurate the Conference and Exhibition on August 29 and release a souvenir to mark the occasion.

The inaugural session will also be addressed by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi; union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram; union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan; Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh; and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Welfare of SCs and STs Dr. Faggan Singh Kulaste.
