Bhubaneswar, Oct. 27 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today announced thatthe state's total port capacity will expand to 500 million tonnes by 2047, marking a new era of maritime-driven industrial and economic growth.
Unveiling the state's maritime vision at India Maritime Week 2025 in Mumbai, Majhi said Odisha's strategic coastal strength is propelling it toward becoming a leading hub along India's Eastern Maritime Corridor.
"With Paradip, Dhamra, Gopalpur, and upcoming ports at Astaranga, Jatadhari Muhan, Subarnarekha, and Bahuda, we are expanding our total port handling capacity to 500 million tonnes annually, supported by three major ship anchor points," Majhi said.
