Bhubaneswar, Aug. 21 -- The Odisha government on Friday stressed the need to expedite land acquisition and ensure the smooth, obstruction-free handover of the remaining land for the Talcher-Bimlagarh New Broad Gauge Railway Project to facilitate its speedy implementation.
Revenue Secretary Arabinda Padhee chaired a detailed review meeting on the status of land acquisition, pending court cases and other major issues affecting the construction of the 149.78-km railway project.
During the meeting, Padhee directed the concerned authorities to expedite the acquisition of the remaining land and ensure its timely handover to the railway authorities, while keeping public interest as the priority.
