Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 -- With a string of major festivals lined up over the coming months, Odisha DGP Binaytosh Mishra on Tuesday directed police chiefs of Central Range districts to draw up advance security plans, intensify preventive policing and ensure foolproof arrangements for peaceful and safe celebrations.

At a high-level review meeting at the State Police Headquarters, Mishra stressed adequate police deployment at sensitive locations, effective crowd management and smooth traffic regulation during Ganesh Puja, Nuakhai, Vishwakarma Puja, Durga Puja, Gajalaxmi Puja, Diwali/Kali Puja, Amla Navami, Panchuka and Bali Yatra.
