Bhubaneswar, Feb. 24 -- The Odisha Police has registered 400 cybercrime cases and arrested 216 accused persons during its statewide special drive, "Operation Cyber Kavach," aimed at cracking down on mule (benami) bank accounts involved in cyber fraud.

As part of the operation, police registered 400 cases related to mule bank accounts, eight cases involving ATM withdrawals, 13 cases linked to cheque withdrawals, and nine cases concerning fake SIM cards and PoS transactions. A total of 9,376 suspected mule (benami) bank accounts were verified during the drive.
