Bhubaneswar, June 27 -- Odisha Police has put in place extensive security and crowd management arrangements for the Devasnana Purnima festival scheduled to be held in Puri on June 29, aiming to ensure a safe, smooth and hassle-free experience for lakhs of devotees.
Devotees from across the country are expected to gather along the Grand Road in the holy city to witness the sacred royal bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Chakraraj Shri Sudarshan, followed by the traditional "Hati Vesha".
Popularly known as Snan Purnima, the ritual marks an important prelude to the annual Rath Yatra festival of the presiding deities of Sri Jagannath temple.
