Bhubaneswar, June 26 -- In a major crackdown on illegal cattle trafficking in Odisha, the Bhanjanagar Police have intercepted multiple vehicles transporting cattle in violation of the law and rescued 100 cattle and arrested four persons.
Acting on intelligence, a police team under the supervision of the superintendent of police, Ganjam, intercepted the vehicles and seized all cattle on the spot.
The rescued animals have been placed in safe custody and are being cared for as per legal requirements.
A case has been registered at Bhanjanagar Police Station under Sections 303(2), 291, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
